Summer Brief - Person/Place: Fortnum & Mason (Article Research)

I came across this interesting article online about Fortnum & Mason, explaining the fortunate world wide success and possibility of having branches in China, the Middle East as well as India. It currently has branches in Japan which is Fortnum's biggest export market.

I found this part of the article extremely relevant, as it talks about the brand itself which is very relevant to graphic design. Silas Amos says 'long after the biscuits or tea have been consumed, the packs hang around, reused or refilled. The best are too good to bin.' This to me is packaging at it's finest. If packaging becomes multifunctional in this way, then we can prevent the problems we face with non-recyclable waste, and an unsustainable future.
